An Acre, Room to Grow

Let's take a little trip... To an acre of mine...  A land that is figurative to you... but so very real to me. (I recently shared/introduced this land in my blog post An Acre, A Place .) What do you imagine an acre of your own would look like? One that is figurative to me... and real to you. This acre of mine is a place of comfort and rest, of joy and rest, of peace and rest, of revitalization and you guessed it - rest. When I was first given the challenge of imaging my own acre, I was struck by how vast my acre was. It was in fact much more than a single acre... there was land as far as you could see with mountains in the distance and a small creek that feed in to a distance lake. My acre is vibrant and peaceful. A place where you could enjoy yourself as well as a place to find comfort, and rest. When asked what would I want to grow on my acre, I wasn't sure right away.  I knew I wanted it to overflow with feelings of comfort, joy, and rest. I now know I want ...

An Acre, A Place

If you had an acre that was all yours, what would it look like?  If you could have anything on this acre, what would be there? Maybe this figurative plot of land that is all yours isn't an acre at all. Perhaps, it is more widespread... When I was recently challenged to consider my own 'acre', a figurative place that is completely mine, I was very surprised with the immediate imagination. My mind quickly unfolded a place I had never seen before, but I had known all my life. My land was on a hilltop with a large, mature tree on my left and a vast view before me. Mountains were in the distance, and I could see for miles and miles. There was a slight breeze though I am not sure what season this land of mine is currently in. Everything was luscious and green and thriving. Water appears a short distance away on the right side of me...
