Commitment Day 2
Committed to Being a Child of God
I have thought about this post all day,
but work and life in general has kept me from being able to sit down and write
the words. I’ve also been a little hung up on how to share what is on my heart.
In reality it is so simple, but I battle
with the simplicity. Why? Because it is the most amazing, awe-inspiring,
unbelievable but believable thing…
I am a child of God.
Since we’re going to spend this month
focused on commitment, I have to share with you who I am. I encourage you to think about who you are. Did you get to read
the post from yesterday?
So, I am a daughter of the Living King.
I have a worth greater than all earthly things. Worth far more than rubies. Proverbs 31:10.
“For everyone born of God overcomes the
world.” 1 John 5:4
Did you read that verse?! Every one of
us who has been born again has the power to overcome the world!
The worth I have because I belong to
Christ is amazing, really at times it is ungraspable, but it doesn’t end there.
As a child of God, the very Spirit of Christ dwells in me. (Romans 8:10-11)
“If you live according to the flesh you
will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will
live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.”
Romans 8:13-14 There is so much in these verses…. Perhaps another day we can discuss them in more detail.
Today I just want to
share these verses with you. Perhaps you’re unsure of who you are or of who you
are committed to being. (I encourage you again to visit yesterday’s post.)
More importantly I pray you’ll visit scripture and see what scripture has to say about who Christ intended you to be.
More importantly I pray you’ll visit scripture and see what scripture has to say about who Christ intended you to be.
I belong to Christ. I am committed to
being who He made me and calls me to be. I am His child “and if children, then
heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ if indeed we suffer with Him
that we may also be glorious together” Romans 8:17
Are you a child of God? What are you
suffering with? You do not have to suffer alone. Give yourself to Christ. Live
as He has called you to live. Then, you will not suffer alone but with Christ.
